Michael Jackson Was My Lover classic, extremely rare, extremely detailed exposé
This explosive exposé came out in the mid-1990s. It was so radioactive, in fact, that it couldn't be published in the US, so they published it in Brazil, where they were less likely to get sued into oblivion by Michael Jackson's lawyers.
Despite being published in Brazil, it is, of course, 100% completely in English. It was aimed at the US market. It just had to come in through a side door. Contains a center section with photos and reproductions of legal documents. My copy is in excellent condition, close to like new.
Only the faintest wear and a bit of waviness. Binding is extremely tight, feels unread. Copies are rare and expensive, and they're almost always in rough condition. It's nearly unheard-of to see a copy close to like new become available for sale. I reviewed many of these books in the first two books I wrote, Outposts and Psychotropedia , which were guides to unusual, alternative, subversive, independent, and just plain interesting reading material.
Many minds were blown, and those two books became cult classics. I've also collected a lot of other books, magazines, and printed matter since then. I'll have lots of edgy art and fiction, erotica, comics and graphic novels, hidden history, alternative health, radical politics, weird science, religion and spirituality, zines, newsletters, ephemera, plus some shockingly mainstream stuff fantasy novels, classic poetry... Lots of books from great, sadly defunct publishers like Gates of Heck, Masquerade, Juno, Hanuman, Loompanics, Grove, Thunder's Mouth, III, etc.Plus cool publishers that are still going strong, including Last Gasp, Feral House, Taschen, powerHouse, Seven Stories, Disinfo...
